Personal Tax Assistant Manager

Become a part of an established 6-partner firm of chartered accountants based in Waterloo, London, with over 100 years of history, serving a diverse client base across the capital, offering a broad range of tax and advisory services.

The Role
We are looking for a motivated Personal Tax Senior to help manage a portfolio of approximately 600 personal tax clients. Our clients include self-employed professionals, company directors, small partnerships and LLPs, non-resident landlords, retirees with investment portfolios, non-domiciled individuals, and high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance and Advisory: Work closely with partners and managers on a range of tax compliance and advisory matters.
  • Tax Return Preparation: Prepare and review personal tax returns and LLP partnership tax returns across various industries, ensuring timely turnaround.
  • Client Engagement: Liaise directly with clients, attend meetings, and identify tax planning opportunities, drafting proposals for their consideration.
  • Team Management: Supervise and mentor tax juniors and seniors, ensuring quality and efficiency in their work.
  • Tax Due Diligence: Undertake tax due diligence projects for diverse clients.
  • Deadline Management: Ensure all tax payment deadlines are met and manage interactions with HMRC regarding tax enquiries.
  • Portfolio and Workflow Management: Oversee client workflows, billing, budget management, and work-in-progress (WIP) management.
  • Marketing Contributions: Contribute to the firm's marketing strategy by producing articles for the website and suggesting client communications.
  • Technology Use: Utilize Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and the CCH software suite for efficient tax management.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Prepare Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) documents, as well as fee notes for partner approval.
  • Ad-hoc Duties: Perform other duties as required to support the team and department.

About You
You are ATT/CTA qualified or post-qualified, with at least 4 years personal tax experience within a practice environment. You are proactive, detail-oriented, and have a strong ability to manage client relationships and deadlines.
