Senior Project Manager

to join the team, to assume responsibility for delivering key business and IT change initiatives. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Project Manager that is well versed in delivering a wide spectrum of change projects and is used to dealing with stakeholders at the highest level. The role can be mostly remote with a requirement to visit the key offices at least once a week in either Milton Keynes , Leighton Buzzard or customer sites as required.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Project Manager:

  • Take ownership and Project Manage the end to end delivery of larger complexity IT & business change projects.
  • Working with sponsorship group, ensue robust business cases are created and signed off through the Connells approval governance processes.
  • Managing projects in line Connells delivery management governance framework and methodology.
  • Where required, work closely with third-party IT providers to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Ensure projects meet defined quality standards.
  • Managing transition of projects into live service ensuring BAU service is not impacted.
  • Management of matrixed delivery teams to deliver the required work is delivered on time and to budget.
  • Reporting regularly on progress and the proactive management of Risks and Issues.
  • Leading meetings at all levels, including those with Executive level / business stakeholders.

Experience & skills required to be successful as a Senior Project Manager:

  • 8 years + proven experience in delivering medium complexity IT software projects across Applications, Cloud Services, and Infrastructure domains.
  • Track record of managing third-party IT providers to achieve positive project outcomes.
  • A broad functional knowledge of IT technologies and methodologies.
  • Strong aptitude for learning new software applications quickly and effectively.
  • Strong senior stakeholder management skills: building relationships with the ability to facilitate decision making and escalation of risks, with proven experience of facing off to director and exec level stakeholders
  • Ability to work with high level direction, independently delivering projects.
  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with demonstrable ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
  • Strong experience in hosting and leading workshops with both business and technical teams
  • Proficient in project planning using MS Project
  • Prince2 , APM or PMI qualification
  • Expert level experience of working within a defined Project Management Framework
  • Strong project budget management experience.
  • Experience of working with Business Analysts and Solution Architects
  • Experience of working in a matrix managed team environment, across geographically distributed teams.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously as required
