Stores Assistant
Are you an experienced Warehouse / Stores Assistant looking for a new and varied position in the Southend area?
The role
As the Stores Assistant you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our clients manufacturing facility.
You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities of their stores department including inventory management, stock control, goods inwards, goods outwards and ensuring materials and supplies are readily available for production.
Responsibilities:
Goods Inwards
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments of materials, components and supplies
- Verify the quantity and quality of received goods against purchase orders
- Document and report any discrepancies, damages or shortages
- Label and categorise received items for easy identification and storage
- Update inventory records and stock control sheets accordingly
Goods Outwards
- Prepare orders for shipment to production teams or customers
- Ensure accurate kitting and packaging of materials and products
- Generate shipping labels and documentation including invoices
- Arrange and coordinate shipments with logistic providers
- Maintain records of outgoing shipments and track delivery status
Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as needed to prevent stockouts while minimising excess inventory
- Conduct regular stock counts and audits to maintain accuracy
Documentation
- Maintain records, including invoices, purchase orders and verify and maintain stock and inventory sheets
- Provide reports on inventory levels, incoming and outgoing goods and discrepancies as needed
Professional Skills:
- Demonstrable experience in a stores or warehouse role
- Ability to adhere to and comply with stores policies and processes
- Proficiency in operating forklifts (desirable, training may be provided)
- Knowledge of health and safety and industry specific regulations
- Computer skills for inventory management and record keeping - Customer service

Monday – Friday 8.15am – 4.45 pm
Salary upto £25,500 per annum = £12.25 per hour plus bens.
Free parking on site.
This position is being offered on a temp to perm basis you will there have weekly pay through the agency to start.
