We are currently hiring Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join HMS on a temporary contract to manage the increased workload during the busy summer season until the end of October 2024. As a Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Operative, you will work in a small team delivering high-quality grounds maintenance and improvement services, primarily in the St Helens and Warrington areas, with some assignments extending to Liverpool. The position requires 41 hours of work per week: Monday to Thursday from 07:30 to 16:30, and Fridays from 07:30 to 15:00. You must have your own vehicle to get to site.

Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a team in delivering a wide range of high-quality grounds maintenance and improvement works, including:
- Grass cutting;
- Hedge trimming;
- Weeding;
- Pruning.
- Safely operate and maintain grounds maintenance equipment and tools, including:
- Ride-on and pedestrian lawnmowers;
- Hedge cutters;
- Chainsaws;
- Strimmers;
- Sprayers.
- Ensure all outdoor greenspace areas, including walkways and communal spaces, are clean and aesthetically pleasing.
- Properly dispose of green waste and debris.
- Be responsible for the security of equipment while on site.
- Conduct regular inspections and report any hazards or necessary repairs.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience of grounds maintenance in public areas.
- Experience safely operating horticultural machinery such as hedge-cutters, strimmers, ride-on and/or pedestrian mowers.
