Porter/Stores Team Leader

As a Porter/ Stores Team Leader you will oversee the portering team to ensure all areas are maintained, monitor and maintain stock levels, audit and monitor portering standards and general people management of the portering team.

You will be responsible for organising clinical waste areas for disposal, removal of waste from the buildings, delivering and retrieving linen for the units, receiving and delivering Oxygen canisters, including changing oxygen canisters, and supporting the maintenance team with minor tasks.

As a Porter/Stores Team Leader you will be:

  • Receiving, organising, and delivering to the correct units bi-weekly enteral feed delivery for service users
  • Receiving pharmacy deliveries and ensuring delivery of items to correct unit
  • Collecting and delivering samples to local trust
  • General support to the clinical teams and operational teams to ensure smooth running of the operational side of the business.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Preferably have previous experience of portering or maintenance within a similar environment
  • Enjoy being busy and get satisfaction from a job well done
  • Prioritise duties and responsibilities effectively
  • Be a good communicator
  • Have good attention to detail and high standards of tidiness
  • Have the ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.

Where you will be working:

Location: The Dean Neurological Centre has 60 beds in Gloucester (GL2 9EE), which is on the outskirts of thetown within easy commute from Gloucester, Cheltenham and surrounding villages.

The Centre delivers specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex longterm neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise functionalability.

It specialises in slow stream rehabilitation where the emphasis is placed on maximising eachindividual's abilities, comfort and quality of life.

Bedrooms are fitted with high dependency equipment, including ceiling track hoists, wall mountedsuction and oxygen equipment., with all rooms adapted to individual requirements. There are alsowell-equipped therapy facilities and other facilities such as gardens, gym and minibus.
