We are seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant to join the Bridgend-based manufacturing site of an international company. The successful candidate will provide vital support in financial tasks, ensuring smooth operation within the department.

Description

The Role:

  • Fast-paced Finance Assistant position, reporting into the Financial Controller
  • Process accounts receivable transactions, including customer invoices, credit notes, cash receipts and adjustments.
  • Maintain financial records and ensure data accuracy in relation to daily cashbook, and cash allocation.
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Provide support in monthly financial reporting and year-end audit processes.
  • Contribute to the improvement of financial processes and systems.
  • Collaborate with other departments on finance-related matters
  • Assist in the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, month-end reporting and analysis
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Support with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments on finance-related matters, and provide financial information for business decisions when required.

This is initially a 12-month fixed-term role with a high possibility of this being extended or made permanent

Profile

A successful Finance Assistant should have:

  • Experience in a similar role is essential
  • Experience with Accounts Receivable and general ledgers
  • AAT certification or part-qualified, not essential but an advantage
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes (to Trial balance at least)
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong analytical mind.
  • Excellent communication and team-working skills.
