Accounts Payable Assistant Temp

Butler Rose is working with our client, a well established, growing wholesale business based in North Plymouth. Due to a backlog in work, our client are in need of an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to work in a temporary position (likely 3 months) to clear the backlog and help implement robust procedures moving forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing: Review, verify, and process a high volume of invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Payment Processing: Prepare and process electronic transfers, BACS payments, and cheques, ensuring payments are made on time.
  • Supplier Management: Communicate with suppliers to resolve discrepancies, respond to queries, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile supplier statements, identify discrepancies, and ensure all invoices are accounted for and correctly posted.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organised files for all accounts payable documentation.
  • Compliance: Ensure all payments comply with internal financial controls, company policies, and relevant regulations.
  • Support: Provide general administrative support to the finance team as needed.

Skills and Experience:

Previous experience in a high volume processing role would be advantageous. Study towards AAT or relevant accounting degree is desirable but not essential. Candidates will need to be strong users of MS Office and experience of using Sage accounting software will be advantageous. Candidates will need to be able to work in office 5 days a week.

Our client have free on-site parking and will provide all tech and training needed to use bespoke iin-house systems.
