Page Personnel are working alongside a well-established and respected firm based in Preston. They are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our team and contribute to the smooth financial operation in the firm.

As a Credit Controller you will be responsible for playing a pivotal role in managing the firm's receivables and ensuring that clients adhere to agreed payment terms.

Our Client is a well known and well Established law firm across the UK. They offer a full spectrum of legal services, catering to both individuals and businesses. Their practice areas include commercial and corporate law, property, employment, dispute resolution, insurance, regulatory, and private client services.

With a history spanning over 200 years, they have built a strong reputation for providing high-quality, client-focused legal advice. They are seeking a Credit Controller to join their Preston office.

Description

As Credit Controller you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and managing client accounts to ensure timely payment of invoices and adherence to credit Terms.
  • Proactively contact clients to follow up on overdue payments, resolving any issues that may delay payment.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on debtor balances, overdue accounts, and cash flow projections to the finance team and senior management.
  • Work closely with legal teams to address any client disputes that may affect payment, ensuring a smooth resolution process.
  • Reconcile client accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Identify and implement improvements to the credit control process to enhance efficiency and reduce debtor days.

Profile

A successful Credit Controller should have:

  • Strong understanding of credit control processes, legal billing procedures, and relevant regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • A proactive and positive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
