Finance Manager (Maternity Cover) - 1 Year Contract
- Annual Salary: £33,945 (£30,028 pro rata)

- Job Type: Term time only + INSET days + 2 weeks
- Hours: 37 hours per week (negotiable)
We are seeking a Finance Manager for maternity cover who will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial transactions of the school. This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial health of the school by leading the financial management functions, including budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with financial regulations.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Develop, monitor, and manage the school budget and school fund in collaboration with school leadership.
- Prepare the school's annual budget in consultation with the Headteacher and review and update as necessary.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic planning.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations and compliance with relevant laws and policies.
- Manage the procurement process and oversee contracts with internal and external parties.
- Identify and assess financial risks, proposing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
- Line manage the Office Manager, Senior Finance Assistant, and Finance Assistant.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in using spreadsheet software, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in financial management and reporting.
- Ability to understand, transform, and present data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Line management experience.
- Experience of working in an education environment is desirable.
