Contracts Manager

Are you a Contracts Manager? Looking for a small team in a prestigious organisation? A rare opportunity has arisen for a Contract Manager to join a top 10 law firm in central London. You'd sit in the firm's in-house legal team and report directly to the General Counsel. This role is pivotal in managing and delivering the contractual aspects of the firm's procurement of third-party suppliers in the UK.

The firm are top 10 in the UK and are well known for being an exceptionally friendly bunch with an enviable client list of household names and exciting startups across IP, media, technology and competition law. With those sorts of clients, it's no surprise the firm have been early adopters of AI tech to streamline processes both internally and with taking their product to market. In terms of other new initiatives, sustainability is a key focus for the firm as a whole, as their upcoming office move will demonstrate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently manage and deliver contractual aspects of the firm's procurement processes.
  • Handle the initiation of supplier diligence processes.
  • Negotiate and manage a variety of contracts.
  • Review and negotiate supplier agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand key requirements and timelines for supplier agreements.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on proposed terms and associated risks.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for supplier due diligence processes.
  • Manage, maintain, and develop the contract management system.
  • Provide training on procurement systems and disciplines.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Educated to LLB/GDL level in the UK (or Commonwealth equivalent).
  • Ideally, you'll have experience in data protection law.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Someone who is comfortable interacting at all levels internally.
  • Experience establishing and/or managing a procurement process in a professional services environment.
  • Experience in a large law firm or the legal department or contract administration group of a large limited or public company (desirable).
