Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week (8:30am-5:00pm, Monday to Friday)

The role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to help ensure their people are paid accurately, on time, and in full compliance with current legislation.
What You'll Be Doing:
As a key member of the payroll team, you'll be at the heart of making sure every employee is paid accurately and on time. This is a varied role where you'll collaborate across departments, embrace new tech and processes, and constantly strive for better.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and processing payroll data
- Ensuring compliance with minimum wage legislation and all payroll regulations
- Managing pensions and auto-enrolment assessments
- Producing accurate payslips, reports, and tax documents (P45s, P60s)
- Handling payroll queries and supporting employees with excellent service
- Calculating holiday pay for variable-hours staff
- Supporting payroll journal entries and cost reporting
- Maintaining electronic records with a focus on data security and accuracy
What You'll Bring:
- Payroll qualification (preferred) ideally 5 years of hands-on payroll experience
- Deep understanding of PAYE, NIC, statutory pay/leave, and current legislation
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Great communication skills, happy to deal with questions and queries with sensitivity and patience
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Confidence to manage your own workload and meet tight deadlines
- Clear communication and a collaborative mindset
- Experience with pension scheme administration and auto-enrolment processes
- Experience of tax compliance around company cars and vans would be advantageous but is not essential
