Senior Ornithologist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Ornithologist to join a dynamic and forward-thinking environmental consultancy. In this role, you will work closely with the Principal Ornithologist and Ornithology Technical Director, playing a crucial role in delivering high-quality technical advice across a variety of impactful projects within the low-carbon economy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a range of small to medium projects, ensuring the delivery of top-tier Environmental Impact Assessments and Habitat Regulations Appraisals.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance service offerings, turning innovative ideas into valuable client services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
- Foster and manage client relationships to ensure project success and satisfaction.
- Work closely with the GIS team to advance expertise in modelling techniques, such as collision risk modelling, spatial modelling, displacement analysis, and population viability analysis.
Requirements:

- A solid understanding of the relevant UK legislation and guidance frameworks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate on technical issues both strategically and in detail.
- A degree in ecology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Awareness of health and safety practices, particularly in relation to ecology fieldwork.
- Proficiency in IT, including the use of MS Word and Excel.
- A full, current driving licence.
