Our client is a privately-owned laboratory providing independent commercial analysis to customers worldwide. They pride themselves on delivering accurate and timely results, utilising cutting-edge technology and highly skilled professionals.

Role:

As an Analytical Chemist, you will play a crucial role in processing samples through Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AA), ICP, and Combustion Ion Chromatography (C-IC), ensuring high-quality data and timely results. You will be responsible for instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and contributing to method development.

Duties:

  • Follow in-house techniques as trained
  • Prepare calibration standards
  • Digest and prepare samples for analysis
  • Set up instrumental runs
  • Process Quality Control samples per ISO 17025:2017 standards and address non-conforming work
  • Analyse data and report to the Operations Manager
  • Prioritise tasks effectively and work independently
  • Perform daily/weekly instrument maintenance and maintain logs
  • Troubleshoot to minimise downtime post-training
  • Maintain standard stock solution inventory
  • Assist in method development with the Technical Manager

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in science, preferably in Analytical Chemistry
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an ICP laboratory, including equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Effective communication skills with all levels internally and externally
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in your work
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
