Are you an experienced Front End App Developer looking for your next opportunity?
Our Glasgow based client is current looking for a Front End App Developer to join their team on an initial 6 month contract. The successful candidate will be passionate about working in agile environments and will contribute to building a secure and sustainable modular platform to enhance the services that our client offers.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams, including suppliers, contractors and permanent staff.
- Build and implement new, secure features for web applications, adhering to industry best practices.
- Detect and address inconsistencies and design flaws in both production and non-production environments, particularly UI issues.
- Share knowledge and provide training to team members to foster skill development.
- Proactively identify future opportunities or potential blockers, ensuring team decision are aligned to the overall technical strategy.
- Pinpoint operational improvements and work towards maintaining and enhancing stable services
- Anticipate project risks or challenges and implement solutions to mitigate them
- Partner with service designers, UX specialists and fellow developers to translate wireframes and mockups into functional user interfaces
Key Applicant Requirements
- Strong expertise in modern JavaScript practices and front-end technologies, including React, Typescript, NodeJS, Redux, HTML5, CSS3, Webpack, and React Testing Library.
- Proficiency with RESTful APIs, unit and integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) including build and package management tools.
- Familiarity with programming best practices (e.g., Clean Code, SOLID), continuous integration/delivery principles, and microservice design patterns.
- Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and bridge the gap between infrastructure, delivery and service management teams.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and indirect stakeholders and provide mentoring and knowledge sharing to colleagues.
- Commercial experience in building accessible websites according to WCAG, with expertise in JS frameworks (React, Angular, Vue), RESTful microservices, and MySQL-compatible databases.
- Knowledge or experience with AWS, Docker, Bash/Shell scripting, and familiarity with Java 8+ is a plus.
This role offers hybrid working which means candidates must live within a commutable distance of Glasgow to attend the office on a regular basis. This role is Outside IR35 with a maximum day rate of £500.
