A market leading and fast-growing distribution company is looking for a confident and technically-minded IT Support Engineer to join their successful team in Luton. You'll be working in a fast paced and collaborative environment, providing essential technical support to the company's systems and IT infrastructure.

The business you'll be joining are a well established, thriving manufacturer and distributor of high-quality wiring, lighting and electrical accessories. They are part of an impressive nationwide group who already employ over 1,700 people across the UK and have an annual turnover exceeding £1 billion.

Role Responsibilities

In this IT Support role, you will:

  • Assist with helpdesk requests and provide user support
  • Plan, manage, and support IT projects, ensuring timely delivery and meeting KPIs
  • Set up and configure user devices such as PCs, laptops, mobile phones and printers
  • Implement, support, monitor, and maintain the company's network and hosted servers in collaboration with supplier partners
  • Maintain server rooms and handle the disposal of redundant equipment
  • Work closely with the group Head Office to implement security policies, manage the active directory, provide and manage access to company systems
  • Support the development of the Microsoft 365 suite to meet business needs
  • Monitor system backups and ensure proper documentation of systems, including network diagrams and user information
  • Generate routine and ad hoc reports for internal stakeholders
  • Work with key IT suppliers to ensure systems and infrastructure meet business requirements
  • Create and maintain policies, user guides, project documentation, asset logs, and directories

  • Starting salary of £29,000 - £32,000

Requirements

To be successful in this IT Support role, you should have:

  • Experience in a customer or technical IT support role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
  • Good working knowledge of IT Infrastructures including Helpdesk, connectivity, networks and security
  • Good working knowledge in administration and support of Microsoft 365 Suite including Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience of device set up including PCs, laptops, mobile phones, peripheral devices, printers, photocopiers
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and a thorough and accurate approach to work
