Full-Time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: North Chesterfield (working across two schools, 10 minutes apart)
Position: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
Start Date: As soon as possible

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team, working across two friendly and supportive schools located in a North Chesterfield suburb. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience teaching across Year 1 to Year 6 in a variety of subjects.

This role would be ideal for:

  • A qualified teacher looking to step back from leading a class.
  • An Early Career Teacher (ECT) seeking to gain further experience teaching across multiple year groups before undertaking their induction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver lessons across Year 1 to Year 6, covering a range of subjects in the absence of class teachers.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of different classes and year groups.
  • Work closely with the teaching staff to support learning and maintain continuity.
  • Contribute to the planning and preparation of lessons with ½ day PPA time provided each week.

Essential Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent, or qualified teacher status.
  • Experience working across a range of year groups in a primary school setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage pupils of varying ages.
  • Ability to work effectively across two school sites.
