Controls Compliance Manager

A nationally recognised business is seeking a Controls Compliance Manager to join their team in the London area. This position will join the Compliance Team and the importance of this role will be to ensure that internal control testing is completed and reported on, in order to make sure the business is operating effectively and target areas of weakness to carry out remedial work on these controls.

Your Role & Responsibilities

While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Working collaboratively with leaders within the compliance team to ensure internal control testing is delivered across the full annual cycle
  • Liaising with Control owners to share test plans and support on information requests
  • Assessing the evidence of controls to conduct analysis on the effectiveness of these and to identify areas for improvement
  • Submitting the test results through the Audit Board to ensure these are at the required standard and communicating these to Control Owners to work on remediations
  • Overseeing and reviewing all aspects of business testing
  • Maintaining the aspects of the Audit Board to ensure audit logs are supported, to advise on best practices and keep up to date with developments
  • Proactively contributing to control improvement projects include remediation cycles, in order to deliver best practices
  • Contributing to and supporting the delivery of the controls compliance training
  • Supporting the ongoing deployment of the risk and control mindset across the business

What you will need to Apply:

To be considered for this position, applicants must be qualified accountants (either ACCA, ACA or CIMA), ideally from within a 'Big 4' practice, and have several years of post-qualified experience, specifically from working with a large corporate business. US SOX compliance experience is required. Experience in controls monitoring including Internal Controls over Financial Reporting, and also delivering end-to-end controls testing, remediation and reporting is also expected. Applicants should have good knowledge of best practices and have an understanding of corporate governance requirements. Excellent communication skills, including stakeholder management are needed too.

What you will get in Return:

For the successful candidate a starting salary of up to £70,000 is on offer, depending on experience relating to the role as stated above, and this will accompany a fantastic peripheral package including a strong pension offering, additional work perks and incentives and hybrid working of 2/3 days in the office.
