Buyer – Sheffield/Hybrid - £30,000 - £40,000

Elevation Recruitment Group are proud to be working with a global market leading business as they look to recruit a Buyer to join their procurement team.

As a Buyer, you'll play a key role in ensuring seamless material availability to keep operations running smoothly for supply with demand. The ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing/mechanical parts components.

Buyer Duties:

  • Manage procurement for raw materials for the UK
  • Develop and implement programs to enhance service reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness in nominated commodity areas
  • Ensure UK expenditures are procured at the lowest possible cost while adhering to QSHE standards and purchase order terms
  • Lead bid analysis to determine optimum value, create purchase orders, and evaluate competing bids based on economic value
  • Identify potential suppliers, issue RFQs, manage supplier relationships, and resolve complaints to maximize benefits and efficiencies
  • Identify key spend areas, develop detailed sourcing plans, and achieve cost and efficiency savings
  • Develop clear spend categories and maintain a market intelligence database
  • Negotiate prices, terms, and quality requirements with suppliers
  • Manage risks from both supplier and part/service perspectives
  • Conduct tenders and benchmarking exercises in compliance with departmental policies and procedures
  • Maintain and control commercial terms, service levels, and supply agreements; build standard templates for these

Hours: Monday – Friday – 37.5 hours a week

Required skills & experience:

  • Previous experience within the manufacturing/mechanical parts components industry
  • Previous procurement experience
  • Skilled negotiator
  • Strong IT skills
