Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Universal Milling Machinist to join our client's dynamic team. The ideal person will have experience in setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines as this post plays a critical role in ensuring the production of high-quality precision parts and the continued success of this reputable business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation: Set up, program, and operate the CNC machine.
- Programming: Write and modify CNC programs from technical drawings to optimise machine performance and ensure high precision.
- Setup and Calibration: Set up and calibrate tools and machines, ensuring all settings meet the specific requirements of each job.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of finished products to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards. Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometres and gauges.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
Required Skills:
- Experience: Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, specifically with CNC mills and lathes. Experience with CME machines and Heidenhain controls is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of geometric tolerances and technical drawings. Ability to make precise adjustments and solve machining problems independently. Experience with CAM software is beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with various inspection tools and gauges.
- Your Attributes: Detail-oriented, strong problem-solving skills, excellent time management, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
