Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer/Director
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 pa dependent on experience with potential for shareholding in a design company
Saltaire, Shipley (with regular travel to other company locations)
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Company Overview:
JLM m&e Ltd operates in the renewable energy building services sector, focusing on reducing carbon emissions through innovative technologies such as Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP), Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP), and solar photovoltaic installations.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer/Director to join our team. In this role, you will lead and manage M&E design projects from inception to completion, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, sustainable solutions.
Role Responsibilities but not limited to:-
- Lead the design process for M&E projects, including conducting technical calculations, preparing detailed reports, and performing site surveys.
- Oversee project management, maintaining clear and consistent communication with clients and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct energy analysis and modelling, with a strong focus on BIM (Building Information Modelling) integrated design.
Your Profile:
Education & Qualifications:
- Degree in Building Services, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering. Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
Experience:
- Extensive experience in domestic and commercial heating systems, with a strong focus on low-carbon technologies such as heat pumps.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit experience is a plus. Strong IT skills, particularly thermal analysis software (IESVE) and BIM-focused design software.
Personal Attributes:
- A team player with excellent communication skills, you are ambitious, conscientious, and eager to contribute to the growth of our M&E service line.
- A full UK driving license is required.
