We are looking for enthusiastic and talented special educational needs Teaching Assistant (SEN) to work with children that have SEMH needs to start as soon as possible in Hitchin.

This is a long term position but a successful SEN TA may be offered a permanent position as per their performance.

This exciting opportunity would include assisting with lesson plans, providing extra assistance to children, and recording and reporting a child's progress to the teacher.

This SEN school in Hitchin, is committed to providing outstanding learning support to students aged 5-18 with diverse learning needs. We strive to create a warm, inclusive environment where every student is encouraged to excel.

Note: Eligibility to work in the UK is ESSENTIAL (sponsorship is not available with this role)

Responsibilities:

  • Work on a 1:1 or small group basis with children who have Special Educational Needs
  • Lesson/work planning for the students you are working with
  • Utilise learning schemes in order to progress your student's learning
  • Report back to parents and teachers regarding the students progress
  • Supporting children's physical, social and emotional well-being
  • Completion of daily records for pupils
  • Classroom preparation for the following school day

Requirements:

  • Experience working with SEN pupils
  • UK work permit
  • Managing challenging behaviour and supporting the class teacher
  • Ability to assist teachers and other staff to create a positive learning environment for children with social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Understanding of autism
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Enhanced DBS on a update service
