Role: Financial Controller
Paying £60,000 – 70,000 + Benefits

TalentEdge are currently partnering with and award winning SME Creative Agency who are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join their team and vibrant working environment.
This is a fantastic broad finance opportunity managing all elements of the finance function on a day to day basis, working closely with the senior leadership team in driving continued business growth. This role is perfect for a hands on, detail orientated finance individual looking to take the next step in their career.
Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate with various service teams to manage, track, monitor, and communicate all financial aspects of client relationships.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including reports on client and job profitability, and staff utilisation.
- Ensure the balance sheet is fully reconciled each month, proactively investigating and resolving any variances.
- Oversee client profitability by managing revenue and resources/costs, ensuring client P&Ls align with staffing agreements and agency goals.
- Handle budgeting, forecasting, monthly close revenue recognition, and variance explanations.
- Provide proactive analytical support and conduct ad hoc financial analysis for business leaders.
- Develop, maintain, and distribute ad hoc reports and financial models as needed.
- Assist in providing information to support internal and external audits.
- Partner with senior account leads on existing client contract renewals and new business pitches.
- Work closely with client teams to stay informed of changes and modifications to client budgets.
- Leading the year end audit, working closely with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Report cash flow weekly, suggesting improvements to the cash flow template/process to enhance accuracy and reduce completion time.
- Prepare and update revenue for weekly meetings with the CEO.
- Regularly review financial plans and ongoing expenditures to identify cost reduction opportunities.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Ideally a Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Must have experience within the creative / marketing services sector
- Previous Finance Manager / Financial Controller experience with strong technical accounting skills
- A proven track record of liaising with both senior and junior business stakeholders
- Experience driving process improvement
- Ability to coach, develop and motivate junior colleagues and direct reports
- An ambitious, driven individual with a positive attitude
