Broker Governance Relationship Manager:

The purpose of the Expert role is to provide departmental support in both the people and technical areas. In addition to the core elements of the role, the mix of activity undertaken by the Expert advisor will vary depending on departmental requirement(s).

Main Responsibilities as Broker Governance Relationship Manager:

  • Actively engage with Brokers to support Ageas in the evidencing of its adherence to the Consumer Duty principles and other relevant regulatory requirements by our Broker partners.
  • Ensure brokers understand their responsibilities and Ageas' expectations in the context of the regulatory environment and align their practices, accordingly, escalating any concerns to the relevant Executive Forums / Committees and senior management.
  • Supporting the onboarding of new broker partners ensuring new arrangements include clear expectations with regards meeting regulatory expectations including Consumer Duty Customer Outcomes, and that the relevant Ageas policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Understand and monitor, in conjunction with the U/W Risk & Governance team, the outcome metrics and thresholds agreed by the business initiating timely conversations / investigations with account managers and their broker relationships.
  • Providing a leading contribution to overall Executive Forum/Committee reporting, ensuring your areas of focus support and complement, an holistic view of the distribution landscape.
  • Responsible for the prioritisation and management of the completion of actions, with the support / facilitation of the relationship manager, and the escalation of any barriers or delays to their completion. Actions may be internal, external, or a combination of the two, and can be investigative, corrective, or preventative in nature.

Skills and experience you need as Broker Governance Relationship Manager:

  • Excellent skills in explaining and reporting, both internally and externally, the interpretation of regulatory requirements and Ageas' response to these.
  • Active Listening: Understand brokers' needs, concerns, and feedback to enhance collaboration and address any issues promptly.
  • A good understanding of the regulatory environment of the insurance market (especially Consumer Duty and PROD) and what may impact Ageas' ability to meet its requirements.
  • A thorough understanding of insurance products and their distribution, including how products designed, sold, and administered, and the relationship between a distributor and manufacturer.
