I am currently recruiting for an outstanding mainstream primary school located in Croydon, committed to providing an inclusive, nurturing, and supportive environment for all students. This School is opening a new ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) provision, designed to offer specialized support to children with autism within their welcoming and vibrant school community.

We believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. With this in mind, we are looking for a passionate and dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistant to join their team and help establish there ASD provision.

Key Responsibilities: Specialist Teaching Assistant (ASD Provision) - Croydon

  • Provide tailored support for students with ASD within the new provision, helping them to access the curriculum and school life.
  • Work closely with the SENDCo, class teachers, and other specialists to develop individual education plans (IEPs) and ensure effective, personalized learning.
  • Implement strategies to promote social interaction, communication, and emotional regulation in line with students' specific needs.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment where all children feel valued, understood, and supported.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and external professionals to maintain a consistent approach to each child's development.
  • Support children in both the ASD provision and mainstream classroom settings as needed.

Key Requirements: Specialist Teaching Assistant (ASD Provision) - Croydon

  • Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ideally in a school or educational setting.
  • A commitment to inclusion and a deep understanding of the needs of children with ASD.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude towards supporting children's individual development.
  • Relevant qualifications (such as CACHE Level 3 or equivalent) would be advantageous, though not essential with the right experience.
