Walker and Sloan are proud to be working with a well known retail client in Gloucestershire, as they are keen to bring on board a Senior PR & Communications Executive to their PR team on a 12 month FTC, with the possibility of it going perm.
As Senior PR & Communications Executive you'll work with the PR Manager to identify and execute PR opportunities and campaigns, with a focus on consumer media. You'll be the first point of contact for all incoming press enquiries and work with our agency partners and in house teams to drive positive press coverage and influencer activity.
We're looking for someone with 2-4 years of experience in consumer brands to help increase our brand awareness and media presence. Sitting in the Marketing department the PR team collaborates with teams across the business including brand, marketing planning, social media, commercial, retail and ecommerce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the PR Manager and agency partners to plan and execute PR campaigns.
- Develop strong editorial contacts across consumer, homes, interiors, food, and lifestyle media.
- Create opportunities for high-quality, positive brand coverage in consumer media.
- Work with the social media team on influencer outreach.
- Respond to press inquiries and manage sample requests.
- Write and distribute press releases and manage media databases.
- Event planning, media engagement, and budget management.
- Produce PR reports and assist in budget tracking.
- Support the PR Manager and People team in delivering impactful internal communications. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise 2-4 years of experience in PR with consumer brands, either in-house or agency-side.
- Strong consumer media connections or the ability to develop them quickly.
- Experience in creating and delivering successful PR strategies and campaigns.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to balance priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Creativity, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach.
- Familiarity with media monitoring platforms like Meltwater, Response Source, Vuelio. A true love of food and cooking - we'll provide the tools.
