Financial Accountant

S&you are supporting our NHS client with the appointment of a Financial Accountant to join their team on a full-time basis in Nottingham.

This is a 12-month onsite fixed-term contract with the potential to be made permanent.

Salary: up to £50,000 per annum with great annual leave, very competitive pension contributions and flexible working.

Responsibilities:

  • Support in the daily management of the finance department, ensuring processes are followed to produce monthly and quarterly financial reports.
  • Oversee the internal financial controls and ensure an effective system of financial management in line with the organisations policies, procedures and standards.
  • Provide input into the production of monthly management reports, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Support the process for annual statutory returns.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for the purpose of year end accounting procedures.
  • Ensure robust audit trails are in place to satisfy auditors requirements and work with auditors efficiently to meet any requests for further information.
  • Support the management and development of the finance team.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant through a recognised Accountancy provider.
  • Experience of working within the finance department of an NHS Trust.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, reporting and statutory requirements.
  • Experience of managing, supporting and developing staff.
  • Strong understanding of UK Financial Reporting Standards, Capital Accounting and Standing Orders.
