Reed Education is seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join a fantastic Secondary School for the new school year. This role offers an immediate start or a September 2024 commencement. The school provides exceptional support for students with diverse needs, including specialist areas to facilitate access to mainstream classroom teaching. This is an excellent opportunity for Learning Support Assistants to advance their careers, with prospects for progression into teacher training within the school for the right candidates.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Support students with individual needs, including SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) and Speech and Language needs.
  • Regularly meet with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), staff, external agencies, and parents to support the progress of individual students.
  • Contribute to the updating and use of EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) for individual students.
  • Run subject-specific interventions as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not mandatory, as comprehensive training will be provided.
  • A positive attitude and a fair approach to supporting all students across the school.
  • Good behaviour management strategies and the ability to remain positive and adhere to the school's policies.
  • Relevant qualifications are advantageous, but candidates MUST have a GCSE grade C or higher (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • The role is subject to a clear DBS check on the update service (assistance with this can be provided by Reed).
