Calibration & Test Engineer

Job Description:

  • Build, repair, debug and maintain test gears. Working with standard laboratory instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analysers, etc) to debug and verify live hardware.
  • Design, document, and assemble new test gears.
  • Manage external calibrations and carry out in house calibrations.
  • Must be comfortable with fault finding work.
  • Produce and maintain production test procedures.
  • Maintain company equipment & asset log.
  • Support for regulatory compliance of products e.g., RoHS, REACH, CMRT, etc.
  • Support engineering with test reports & manufacturing data packs.
  • Support production with technical issues.
  • Support other team members as required.

Responsibilities:

Outputs:-

  • Ability to build, repair, debug, and maintain test gears.
  • Proficiency in using standard laboratory equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analysers to troubleshoot and verify hardware.
  • Capable of debugging live hardware and resolving issues.
  • Expertise in designing new test equipment and gears.
  • Ability to document the design and assembly process.
  • Hands-on skills to assemble the new test gears.
  • Responsible for managing the external calibration of equipment.
  • Able to perform in-house calibrations to ensure equipment accuracy and reliability.
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Develop and document comprehensive test procedures for production.
  • Regularly update and maintain the test procedures to ensure they remain relevant and effective.
  • Responsible for keeping an accurate and up-to-date record of the company's equipment and assets.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and tracking of all equipment and assets.
  • Provide technical support to ensure products meet regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of compliance documentation.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to generate accurate and comprehensive test reports.
  • Provide support in the creation of manufacturing data packs.
  • Provide technical expertise and assistance to the production team to resolve any issues that arise.
  • Troubleshoot and find solutions to ensure the smooth operation of the production process.
  • Demonstrate a collaborative and supportive attitude.
  • Assist other team members as needed to achieve overall organisational goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies and techniques in electronic testing and calibration. Identify opportunities for improvement and suggest changes to current practices. Continuously improve and refine calibration and testing processes.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge in Electronics and electrical engineering.
  • Must be PC proficient.
  • Proficiency of Python programming
  • Relevant experience in calibrations and test equipment.
