Job Title: Associate Building Surveyor

Salary: Negotiable based on experience

About the Role: We are seeking an Associate Building Surveyor with a proven track record in managing and delivering complex capital projects. The ideal candidate will be a central figure within our team, providing leadership, technical guidance, and quality assurance. This role involves a dynamic blend of team management (40%) and project delivery (60%), offering a diverse and high-quality workload.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold and enforce the company's technical, process, and behavioural standards.
  • Guarantee the technical quality of team outputs.
  • Act as a committed member of both management and technical teams.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and inspire team members.
  • Facilitate problem-solving within the team.
  • Cultivate and manage client relationships, overseeing multiple accounts.
  • Assist in developing fee proposals and project setups.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Promote inter-divisional cross-selling.
  • Contribute to junior staff development and training.
  • Guide Architectural Technologists in producing AutoCAD designs for complex projects.
  • Manage project procurement aligned with RIBA work stages.
  • Advise clients on project requirements, conducting feasibility studies and budgeting.
  • Design schemes, prepare costings, project timelines, and work specifications.
  • Handle tender documentation and advise on contractor appointments and procurement strategies.
  • Oversee contract administration and project management.
  • Ensure project completion within budget and schedule.
  • Secure capital funding and conduct building surveys, defect analysis, and repair proposals.
  • Supervise building maintenance, including PPM schedules.
  • Process planning applications and advise on compliance with property legislation.
  • Execute party wall procedures for both building and adjoining owners.

Desirable Experience:

  • Professional Services, Fire Risk Assessments, Party Wall surveying.
  • Public sector service provision, preferably in the Education Sector.

Candidate Profile: The successful candidate will be a well-rounded individual with extensive managerial experience in a property consultancy, particularly in design and contract administration. Excellent communication skills are essential.
