Shift Engineer
Salary: £47,631
Hours: 12 hour shifts, 4 on 4 off (2 days/2 nights 7-7's). They do 7 sets of shifts and then have an 18-day break. They end up having 5 x 18 day breaks per year. 2 x 35-minute paid breaks per 12hr shift

Duties:
- Fixing machine faults occurring as part of the normal shift activity.
- Fast response to line breakdowns affecting production and liaising extensively with the Extrusion Shift Manager.
- Carrying out preventative maintenance activities and routine safety inspections.
- Fault finding and diagnostics in reactive breakdown or planned situations.
- Planned preventative maintenance on a variety of production machinery to include extruders and site services.
- Ensure all breakdowns are dealt with promptly and efficiently whilst ensuring that all PPM schedules are maintained.
- Support project development
- Follow and encourage stringent HSE and standard company practices.
- Fully engage with the operations team to provide proactive support to the plant and equipment, maximising production output.
Experience required:
- Flexible, highly motivated and driven with the ability to prioritise own workload, possess strong intellect, good logical fault-finding analysis capabilities and who can demonstrate the ability to make decisions and empower people to drive actions forward. Results orientated, with ability to deliver results in a rapidly changing environment. Excellent attention to detail.
- Will have a time served apprenticeship (or equivalent) and have a recognised qualification in a related discipline (or equivalent)
- Possess excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills and be a confident team player.
- Experience of working in a production maintenance environment is essential for this role.
Qualifications needed:
- HNC or Degree level qualification in an Engineering discipline.
- Proven track record in production engineering
- Excellent IT skills are essential
