HR Business Partner

We are recruiting for an HR Business Partner to join our clients team based in Gateshead and offering hybrid working of 3 days in the office and 2 working from home.
As the HR Business Partner for their Tech and Software division, you will contribute at both a strategic and operational level, supporting nearly 200 colleagues nationally. You will enjoy being hands-on, approachable, and eager to get involved with new initiatives and projects whilst supporting employees and advising senior leaders, and managers in all areas of HR.

Roles and Responsibilities of the HR Business Partner:

  • Collaborate with department heads to develop and implement the division's HR and talent strategy, addressing current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Align HR strategies and initiatives with the overall business objectives of the tech and software departments.
  • Offer guidance and support to line managers on employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures, and sharing best practices in employment law.
  • Oversee and advise managers on employee relations matters.
  • Lead efforts to attract, recruit, and onboard top talent for tech, IT, and software roles.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and specifications.
  • Support performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and development plans.
  • Coach managers on effective performance management and employee development strategies.
  • Provide guidance on salary reviews, ensuring market alignment.
  • Analyse HR metrics and trends to develop and implement solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the tech, IT, and software teams.
  • Manage and support cross-functional HR projects.

Skills & Experience required of the HR Business Partner:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, with technology or software experience desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Team player with a proactive and professional approach.
  • CIPD Qualified or equivalent.
  • Generalist HR professional with recruitment experience.
  • Solid knowledge of employee relations and employment law.
  • Experience of mergers and acquisitions is desirable.
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage own workload.
  • Flexible to travel across UK sites when required.
