As a Cook, you will play a vital role in operating the café kitchen and ensuring the delivery of safe and high-quality food to customers. Due to location, you must have your own vehicle and be able to drive for this role.
Key Tasks:
- Take day-to-day responsibility for operating the café kitchen on head cook days, with weekends off.
- Ensure the kitchen operates safely and legally, maintaining consistently high standards.
- Be the café expert on safe food delivery in the absence of the Head Cook.
- Manage daily priorities, ensuring day-to-day routines are carried out and recorded appropriately.
- Plan the daily preparation of fresh food items for service, guiding and maximising the time of the casual staff.
- Ensure the full menu is available at all times, while being mindful of wastage.
- Guide customers in their choices regarding allergens and dietary requirements.
Requirements:
- Previous cooking experience.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practises.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to effectively guide and train casual staff.
- Must have your own vehicle and be able to drive due to location.
