What the role will involve

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

  • Assisting the team to develop, implement and maintain a corporate level Trade Compliance Program for the EMEA and APAC regions.
  • Monitor the applicable regulations for changes to embargoed and sanctioned countries and parties and the wider regulatory environment, understanding impact to business.
  • Identify and act upon opportunities to influence export legislation and implementation.
  • Work in an advisory capacity with senior leadership to support their aspirations through the provision of strategic and pragmatic export advice and practice.
  • Work closely with Sales, Project and Operations teams to identify transactions having import/export authorisation and other trade compliance related requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation, submission and management of UK and Aus Government export licences and approvals to ensure continuous coverage for business activities.
  • Support internal and external US parties with application and management of US export authorisations, TAA's, MLA's, Licences.
  • Lead internal and Governmental Trade Compliance audits.
  • Assist Technical Specialists obtain the necessary information to enable jurisdiction and classification analysis of equipment, software and technology.
  • Support briefings, seeking export support and approval from the UK Department of International Trade, Ministry of Defence. National Cyber Security Centre and Foreign Commonwealth Office.

What you'll bring

The role of Trade Compliance Manager requires the following experience and skills:

  • Previous people management/team leader experience
  • Proven experience of UK/EU/AUS Defence Export Controls
  • Proven experience of US Trade Compliance requirements including the ITAR and EAR
  • Proven experience with International Logistics
  • Proven experience writing policy and procedure documentation sets
  • Computer literate, with good experience of MS Office tools such as: Excel; Word; PowerPoint; Visio; SharePoint
  • Emotionally resilient, highly flexible and a naturally inquisitive individual
  • Displays a high level of respect, diplomacy and tact when dealing with stakeholders
