Our client is looking for a Commercial Counsel to join their rapidly expanding business, this candidate will effectively provide legal and commercial advice in the Technology & Telecoms field, ensuring the company's operations within the Legal department run smoothly and adhere to regulatory standards.

Our client is a substantial player in the Technology & Telecoms industry, they are dedicated to providing top-tier services to their clients nationwide, all from their base in Reading.

Description

  • Provide expert legal support, advice and guidance to the Sales, Commercial and Communications/Marketing teams in the business on all types of commercial matters (including commercial disputes, intellectual property and technology) including drafting and negotiating contracts where necessary.
  • Work with the Senior Commercial Counsel on high value and high priority transactions, managing external legal suppliers and external legal spend where required.
  • Reporting into and supporting the Senior Commercial Counsel to drive innovation and efficiency to the commercial legal process.
  • Build strong working relationships with the business teams as well as external contacts including Shareholder and, Customer legal teams.

Profile

A successful Commercial Counsel should have:

  • UK/IRE Qualified with a minimum of 3-6 year's PQE experience in commercial transactions
  • Solicitor with a background in practising in commercial law
  • Breadth of commercial contract experience.
  • Experience working within a busy in-house legal team.
  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders
  • Good initiative with ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Experience with Technology, Marketing and IP contracts
