The roleThis role is responsible for providing sustainable design expertise on whole life embodied in carbon assessments and circular economy statements - both new build, fit out and refurbishment projects for the public and private sector. Working in a multidisciplinary environmental buildings team, you will assist in providing a comprehensive design service to the company's prestigious clients.The Sustainability Group provides high level consultancy advice on a wide range of subjects for projects both in the UK and internationally. Key ResponsibilitiesThe following list provides some key responsibilities, but the role is not limited to the list below:
Technical Expertise
- Undertake Whole Life Carbon (WLC) Calculations for BREEAM Mat 01.
- Undertake WLC Calculations for GLA referable schemes.
- Prepare reports for Planning Submissions.
- Prepare reports and presentations for non-technical team members and clients.
- Present to the client and design team, to provide design expertise and impact the design regarding WLC.
- Support calculations for Embodied Carbon, for varying projects including.
Management & Support
- Support the wider team with project delivery, with the preparing of Green House Gas Reports, Climate Change Adaptation Sustainability statements and Compliance Statements.
- Support the MEP design consultants, on delivering their design strategy in regard to optioneering, and Whole Life Carbon.
- Manage your own workload and feed into resource planning.
- Support management and training of staff at lower grades.
- Awareness of their financial spending.
- Undertake QA of other WLC around building energy demand reduction and compliance.
General
- Produce accurate, professionally written reports and statements with excellent English, clearly communicating your work to clients and stakeholders.
- Make verbal presentations to clients and stakeholders on the work undertaken.
- Liaise with design stakeholders and clients to develop a design that is innovative and affordable.
- Contribute to internal and external design team meetings with the required level of technical understanding to help direct design decisions regarding carbon savings and appropriate roots in Circular Economy.
- Invests in their individual training and supporting their technical development.
- Participates in the development of junior staff.
