We are actively recruiting for two distinct roles within our Digital Services department: a Security Operations Analyst and a Senior Security Operations Analyst. Each role plays a vital part in safeguarding our digital infrastructure and requires a dedicated professional to manage and enhance our security posture.

(1) Security Operations Analyst

  • Location: Worcester
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Salary Range: £40,005 - £45,546

Role Overview: The Security Operations Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and analysis of security incidents, ensuring the protection of People, Technology, Data, and Process. This role involves following established procedures to address security incidents and escalating them in accordance with security standards.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities: - Monitor security events and alerts to detect potential threats. - Provide technical security advice to Digital Services projects. - Assist in the development and refinement of the Security Operations Framework. - Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors on security matters. - Manage and resolve security incidents, ensuring compliance with national policing security standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications: - Diploma level (Level 4) in an ICT-related discipline or equivalent experience. - Recognised Security Qualifications such as CompTIA Security+ or (ISC)² SSCP. - Experience with intrusion detection/prevention software, SEIM, and EDR tooling. - Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication with non-technical colleagues.

(2)Senior Security Operations Analyst

  • Location: Worcester
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Salary Range: £46,674 - £52,389

Role Overview: The Senior Security Operations Analyst takes on a more strategic role, proactively hunting for threats and leading initiatives to strengthen our security framework. This senior position involves analyzing complex security data, developing security strategies, and mentoring team members.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities: - Conduct proactive threat hunting to identify and analyze unknown threats. - Develop and present strategic security reports to senior management. - Lead the creation and refinement of security processes to address emerging threats. - Provide expert guidance on patch management and coordinate remediation actions. - Mentor and develop the skills of the security operations team.

Required Skills & Qualifications: - Diploma level (Level 5) in an ICT-related discipline or equivalent experience. - Advanced Security Qualifications such as ISC2's CISSP or HMG's CCP. - Significant experience in threat hunting, security analytics, and using advanced security tooling. - Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to influence change within the team.
