Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting for a Talent and Development Specialist for our Public Sector client.

The ideal talent and development specialist will manage early career initiatives, such as apprenticeships, and entry-level training, to ensure there is a robust pipeline of talent.

Key responsibilities for the Talent and Development Specialist will include;

  • Collaborating with the Talent and Development Business Partner to guarantee the identification of suitable career paths and the implementation of suitable development interventions
  • Supporting learner performance through ongoing monitoring, working closely with the provider, learner, line management and the learning provider
  • Overseeing the utilisation of the apprenticeship levy to its potential
  • Providing early career performance updates every quarter
  • Supporting the conclusions of the workforce planning conversations by putting personal development plans into action, and reviewing these periodically
  • Developing and designing strategies to keep top performers in the organisation in collaboration with the Talent and Development and People Business Partners.
  • Identifying potential external providers and assess their suitability for carrying out talent initiatives
  • Ensuring that course evaluations are completed via the Learning Management System (LMS) and that data is used to support future learning requirements and highlight important trends
  • Conducting ongoing evaluations of training delivery in accordance with specified learning outcomes and take remedial action when they are not met
  • Taking part in relevant projects and promote the areas of people development
  • Keep updated with all Talent and Development policies in line with best practice and employment law
  • Leading on the development of the management fundamentals programme
  • Leading on the design, implementation and evaluation of learning and development programmes that enhance skills and capabilities of employees and leaders
  • Managing, maintaining and advising on the list of approved training providers ensuring value for money
  • Monitoring the performance of external learning providers for mandatory training, evaluate performance and identify areas of improvement

The Ideal candidate for the Talent and Development Specialist will;

  • Be qualified to CIPD Level 5 in Learning and development or equivalent
  • Have a minimum of 3 years' experience working in HR or Talent and Development
  • Have experience in a similar role
  • Have facilitate learning needs analysis
  • Have experience of using learning management systems
