Position Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Site Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of construction projects in the North East. The successful candidate will ensure the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of projects, from inception to completion. This is a critical role where you will take full responsibility for managing on-site teams, liaising with subcontractors, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all on-site operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
- Lead and manage site teams, including subcontractors, tradespeople, and site operatives.
- Ensure all health, safety, and environmental policies are adhered to and manage site safety audits.
- Develop and maintain project programs, monitoring progress and adjusting as necessary.
- Coordinate with the project manager, client, and design team to ensure smooth communication and issue resolution.
- Manage site logistics, including deliveries, plant, and materials.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure work is completed to the highest standards.
- Maintain site records, including daily reports, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Identify and manage project risks and implement contingency plans as required.
- Lead site meetings and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Mentor and support junior site managers and staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager, ideally with a principal contractor.
- A background in managing construction projects, with a track record of successful delivery.
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
- CSCS card and First Aid at Work certification.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building regulations, and health and safety requirements.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
