Digital & Technology Risk & Controls Manager

Job Description

Opportunity to join a very well-known Retail & Commercial Bank in a vital role driving a culture of risk awareness and recommending solutions to digital and technology operational risk issues.

You will partner with the business to manage risk and controls within the agreed risk appetite, ensure mechanisms are in place to identify and mitigate risk, and deliver relevant risk activity to sustain a control environment within risk appetite.

The business operates a hybrid working week, the expectation would be 1 day per week in the offices located in Manchester, Edinburgh or London. Role responsibilities:

Working with senior stakeholders to support them in managing their risk and control profiles.

Escalating emerging risks in a timely manner, making sure actions are quickly defined and owned.

Developing a risk awareness across our business, contributing to the prioritisation, design and implementation of the operational risk principles.

Implementing a robust governance framework that engages all relevant stakeholders to enable effective decision-making.

Managing the interface between the business, internal audit, second line of defence and other functions, as well as the wider risk and controls teams.

Making sure that all aspects of risk management are delivered within the policy framework and operational risk requirements.

Personal attributes & experience:

Good understanding of digital and technology risk and control assessments.

Experience of AWS and cloud.

Excellent stakeholder management skills.

Proven understanding and practical application of risk management principles.

Knowledge gained within Banking / FCA regulated environment.

An understanding of how to design IT controls and automation.
