Accounts Assistant Salary Overview

Market leading SME organisation based in Trafford Park are looking for an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to help support the wider finance team. As a Accounts Assistant you will be initially be supporting the Credit Controller / Sales Ledger team with managing various ledgers within this group business getting involved in all areas of Sales Ledger and Credit Control supporting the finance team. As you learn and build you experience around the Credit Control - Sales Ledger side of the business other finance opportunities will be introduced to you such as Accounts Payable and assisting within month end duties.

Accounts Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Daily Banking – Processing of online receipts and cheques
  • Ensure companies daily banking exceptions are matched and interfaced
  • Assist with bank reconciliation items
  • Suspense Account Management
  • Reducing outstanding debtors balance
  • Adhering to companies Credit Control Policy
  • Chasing payment using telephone/email
  • Dealing with and resolving queries
  • Dealing with and resolving cash allocation queries
  • Issuing statements and reminder letters
  • Provide information to assist with the instructing of debt collection agencies
  • Recommending action on recovery of problem debt
  • Management of query resolution, chasing colleagues where required
  • Monitor and report on aged debtors as and when required
  • Accounts payable, inputting invoices
  • Statement reconciliation's

Accounts Assistant Required Experience:

  • Previous experience of working within a similar finance role with ideally experience within Credit Control
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks accordingly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and team members.
  • An enthusiastic, positive, and can-do approach to tasks.
