Senior FP&A Analyst

A quick look at the role

The Senior FP&A Analyst ensures the accurate and timely delivery of management accounting, analysis and reporting for the I&C Collections division, ensuring the team is supported and challenged in the delivery of their financial performance and providing insight to aid value-add decision making. You will operate within the FP&A function providing key forward looking insight and recommendations to business performance, challenging and driving efficiency at every opportunity.

Your core responsibilities

  • Participate in the monitoring and preparation of the monthly management accounts including variance analysis and feedback/explanations of financial performance to finance and non-finance-personnel, working towards agreed deadlines and timeframes
  • Work closely with the FP&A Manager, adequately presenting and explaining the monthly results along with providing other ad-hoc support as required.
  • Support in preparing the full year budget, quarterly reforecasts and 5 year plan for I&C Collections, working alongside finance and non-finance personnel to aid and assist accurate planning.
  • Oversee consolidation of budgets, forecasts and five year plans for the division (including central submissions and divisional outputs for presentations, etc.) to enable the business to meet planning deadlines with accurate and fully explained data.
  • Manage one to two direct reports and support their development.
  • Review and prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Identify and drive process improvements and efficiencies in the day-to-day role.
  • Provide financial data and insight to assist in commercial decision making.
  • Provide end of year audit support giving full and adequate explanations to auditors where requested.
  • Where applicable, support acquisition accounting and integration
  • Oversee Capex reporting and analysis including review and feedback of investments appraisal and capital employment performance.

Our essential requirements

  • Fully or part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Proven track record of building excellent working relationships with senior leaders of a large sized business
  • Strong system skills including advanced Excel and Power BI
  • Management accounting experience gained in the service, logistics or waste industries an advantage
