Accelerate Teaching is excited to announce an opportunity for an experienced Science Technician to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Bradford. We are looking for a dedicated individual with a passion for science and a commitment to supporting the educational development of our students. This full-time position is set to commence in September 2024.

About the Role

As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in our science department, ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratories and supporting the teaching staff in delivering high-quality science education. Your expertise and enthusiasm will help to inspire our students and foster a stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up equipment and materials for science lessons and practical experiments.
  • Assist teachers and students during practical sessions, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
  • Maintain and organise laboratory equipment and materials, ensuring they are kept in good condition and ready for use.
  • Support the science department in the planning and development of new experiments and teaching resources.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies as needed, ensuring that the department is well-stocked with essential materials.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Provide technical support and advice to students working on science projects.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a school or similar environment is essential.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a keen interest in science and education.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a laboratory setting.
