School Business Manager

We are seeking a School Business Manager (SBM) to join our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and play a pivotal role in the strategic leadership and management of our school's financial and non-teaching operations. The SBM will work closely with the Head to ensure the school's services are continuously improving and that all financial and non-teaching aspects run efficiently and effectively.
Day to Day of the role:
- Lead on finance, estates management, whole-school administration, and health and safety in collaboration with the Head.
- Line manage and train finance, estates, and administration departments.
- Develop sustainable financial plans aligned with school improvement proposals.
- Advise the Governing Body on financial matters and ensure effective resource utilisation.
- Implement new initiatives and government policies relevant to the school's strategic direction.
- Provide strategic support to the Head and Governing Body on all aspects of school business management.
- Oversee financial resource management, accounting, and reporting.
- Manage health and safety within the school, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Lead estates management to maintain a high-quality learning environment.
- Drive the whole-school administration to deliver effective and efficient administrative systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in managing strategic financial plans, budgets, and procurement.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and leading teams.
- Knowledge of financial management, accounting procedures, and health & safety policies.
- Higher level IT skills with analytical capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to use initiative, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Qualifications in accounting, such as Accounting Technician or qualified Accountant, are desirable.
- Experience in the education sector and project management is advantageous.
