Reed Education are currently looking for a dedicated and reliable Temporary Caretaker to ensure our school premises are maintained to a high standard, providing a safe and clean environment for our staff and students. This role is crucial in supporting the school's daily operations and contributing to the overall well-being of our school community.
**Day to Day of the role:
- Conduct regular checks of the building to ensure security and safety.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs to keep the school premises in good condition.
- Manage cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and dusting to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Oversee waste disposal and recycling processes, ensuring the school remains eco-friendly.
- Assist with setting up rooms for events and rearranging furniture as required.
- Monitor heating and cooling systems to ensure they are functioning correctly.
- Report any significant repair needs or safety hazards to the school management promptly.
- Liaise with contractors and oversee on-site work, ensuring all activities are carried out to standard.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including playgrounds and sports fields, to provide a safe and enjoyable space for students.
- Support the school's compliance with health and safety regulations, contributing to a secure environment for everyone.
**Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in caretaking or facilities management is preferred.
- Good knowledge of basic repair and maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- A commitment to the school's ethos and values.
- An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.
