Accounts Assistant Manager

We are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant Manager for our client, a successful accountancy firm based in Milton Keynes. This role would suit an ACA/ACCA qualified accounting professional. The firm will offer the Accounts Assistant Manager a competitive salary, a good benefits package and hybrid working after a settling in period.

Reporting to the Partners the responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant Manager will include:

  • Supporting the management team and partners to manage and review a portfolio of jobs within the accounts team
  • Supervise junior staff
  • Preparation of corporate tax returns
  • Assist in developing smooth accounting workflows and processes between the bookkeeping team to ensure prompt delivery of stat accounts
  • Manage client portfolio
  • Finalising accounts for the review of the Senior Manager

To be considered for this role candidates will have the following skills and experience:

  • Be ACA or ACCA qualified ideally 1-2 years PQE gained within a UK accountancy practice environment
  • Good working knowledge of UK accounting standards and taxation
  • Good general IT skills with significant experience and knowledge with Xero accounting software
  • Excellent communication and people management skills
  • Staff supervision experience and ability to manage staff
  • The ability to prioritise and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Be a team player
