With operations globally, it has a robust supply chain system in place to manage the increasing demand for its product, due to restructuring an opportunity has now emerged for a Buyer with strong supplier management and contract negotiation skills to join the team reporting directly to the Senior Management Team.
Description
- Procure materials in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact business operations.
- Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.
- Prepare and raise purchase orders and order schedules.
- Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications.
- Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures.
- Conduct research for new components and suppliers.
- Compile data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation.
Profile
A successful Buyer should have:
Well established knowledge of procurement and supply chain management practices.
- Familiarity with Manufacturing Industry and its unique requirements.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to forge relationships with suppliers.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong stakeholder management skills
