Senior Finance Manager

Trace are pleased to have been instructed by a high growth Challenger Bank to source a Senior Finance Manager for a maternity cover contract of between 10 - 12 months.

This Fixed Term Contract role is mainly remote with only 1 day in London required.

You will need Financial Services experience, preferrably Banking and have at least 5 years post Qualified experience (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)

The Snr Finance Manager role will lead the core period-end close and reporting processes, whilst driving significant improvements in our controls and supporting wider product initiatives. The role will suit an experienced Finance Manager/Financial Controller who is excited by working in a fast paced, dynamic environment and playing a leading role in designing the future state of the Bank's controls and processes.

Duties:

  • Leading and supporting a team of c.13 individuals, and responsible for the Bank's period-end close processes, management reporting, variance analysis, controls, accounts payable and financial operations teams.
  • Owning the period-end close processes and delivering timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders.
  • Being an advocate for change, driving continuous improvements in controls and processes, embracing automation opportunities wherever possible.
  • Performance of variance analysis, reviewing variances against prior period actuals and forecasts and preparing summary commentary for management.
  • Support the year-end audit process, working closely with the Bank's external auditors.
  • Responsibility for the Bank's financial reconciliation team, ensuring the reconciliation landscape is appropriate and seeking to automate the transaction matching process wherever possible.
  • Preparation of papers for Board and Audit Committees wherever appropriate.

You will need strong staff management experience of managing Qualified level staff as well as working in fast paced and ever changing environments, for eg month end close is working day 5
