About the Role:
We are a thriving secondary school located in the heart of Southwark, seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Design Technology (DT) Technician to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting students and staff in the Design Technology department.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting DT teachers in preparing materials and equipment for lessons
- Ensuring all tools and machinery are maintained and in safe working order
- Supporting students during practical sessions, ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed
- Assisting in the setup and maintenance of displays of students' work
- Providing technical support for classroom projects and activities
- Helping maintain a safe, clean, and organised workshop environment
Requirements:
- A genuine interest in Design Technology and education
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility and a proactive approach to work
- A DBS on the update service is required
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a technician-based role
- Familiarity with a variety of DT tools and machinery
