DRIVE Case Manager

Job Advert: Case Manager for Drive Project

Purpose: As a Case Manager, you will engage with high-risk domestic abuse perpetrators identified by MARAC. Your goal will be to promote attitudinal and behavioural change through one-on-one interventions and collaboration with existing agencies. You will work closely with the IDVA service to review risks, develop safety plans, and improve outcomes for all involved.

Responsibilities:

Interagency Work:

  • Integrate the Case Manager role into multi-agency responses to domestic abuse.
  • Challenge and support partner agencies to adopt best practices.
  • Work with professionals to ensure effective risk management and safeguarding.
  • Maintain partnerships with statutory, private, and voluntary agencies.
  • Represent the service in multi-agency meetings and contribute to service evaluation.
  • Act as a central point of contact for professionals involved in cases.

Case Management:

  • Adhere to child protection and information sharing policies.
  • Manage a caseload of high-risk domestic abuse perpetrators.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and create individual support plans.
  • Participate in regular service reviews and case management meetings.
  • Take action to protect individuals when imminent risk is identified.

Recording and Administration:

  • Maintain accurate and complete case files and records.
  • Enter information into the Drive project electronic case management system.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and information sharing protocols.

Direct Work with Service Users:

  • Maintain proactive engagement with service users to encourage behaviour change.
  • Use motivational and therapeutic skills to address abusive behaviour.
  • Support service users in addressing needs that contribute to risk, such as housing and substance use.
  • Ensure accountability for continued abusive behaviour.
  • Deliver consistent services including risk assessment, support planning, and referrals.

General:

  • Stay updated with relevant legislation and best practices.
  • Represent the service at local events and deliver training as required.
  • Engage in reflective practice and continuous learning.
  • Act with integrity and respect in all interactions.
  • Hold a full driving license and be able to travel within the pilot area.
  • Participate in evening and weekend work as required.

Person Specification:

Essential Experience:

  • Direct work with vulnerable service users.
  • Experience in public protection/safeguarding multi-agency settings.
  • Managing safeguarding issues and procedures.
  • Writing and presenting information to various audiences.
  • Working within legislative frameworks.

Desirable Experience:

  • Work with domestic abuse victims or perpetrators.
  • Experience with service users with complex needs or challenging behaviour.
  • Experience with mental health issues or substance misuse.
  • Work with young people aged 16-25.
  • Use of pro-social modeling and motivational interviewing.

Knowledge and Understanding:

  • In-depth understanding of domestic abuse impacts and legal remedies.
  • Knowledge of public protection arrangements and multi-agency working.
  • Understanding of Idva work and Marac processes.
  • Awareness of the child protection system.

Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong relationship management and partnership working skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent advisory, negotiation, and persuasive skills.
  • Conflict and crisis management capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.
  • Reflection and self-awareness.
