We are looking for a School Catering Assistant to join our vibrant school community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and enjoy working within a school environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the health and wellbeing of our students by preparing fresh and nutritious food.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Prepare a variety of fresh fruit salads.
- Assist with baking cakes, cookies, and hot puddings as needed.
- Support the Chef with food preparation.
- Stock and manage drinks cabinets.
- Label, store correctly, and rotate food items.
- Assist with putting away food deliveries.
- Operate dishwasher and pot wash.
- Manage cashless tills during break and lunch times.
- Clean the kitchen at the end of the day.
- Use initiative and work effectively as part of a team.
- Perform general duties as directed by the Head Chef.
- Report all accidents and unfit foods.
- Comply with all aspects of health and safety legislation related to catering.
- Adhere to and carry out cleaning as per the schedule.
- Assist with the Food Hygiene Management system, including daily monitoring records.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Basic catering experience is essential.
- School experience is desirable.
- Must hold or be willing to undertake Food Safety Training Certificate.
